Hello friends, today I am back with the review of Lakme Rose Face Powder in the shade Warm Pink. It is a budget friendly loose face powder which comes with some pigment. I prefer loose powder over compact when I am in need to retouch many times in a day. Unlike compact face powder, loose face powder is extremely sheer. It does not build up or become cakey as it lacks the binder present in a compact powder. Loose powder also acts better than compact to set concealer as it doesn’t crease around the eye area. The Lakme Rose Face Powder is the oldest loose face powder in India which has some color to match with skin tones. It also claims to control oil for long hours and to protect skin from sun damage.
Price: Rs. 150/- for 40 gm (available on Amazon)
Lakme Rose Face Powder comes in a huge plastic tub with signature Lakme maroon screw lid. The amount we get for 150 bucks is really impressive but the bulky, difficult to carry packaging fails to impress any one. There is another transparent stopper lid inside with three small holes. Very little powder comes out of those holes after shaking which actually helps preventing wastage. The face powder comes with an applicator puff which is great when applying the powder alone on bare, makeup free face. But on foundation and concealer the powder should always be applied with a powder brush to prevent everything getting mixed up.
The powder is very finely milled. For that it has got a silky smooth texture. It spreads on moisturized skin effortlessly and sets as an even matte finishing. The powder does not crease, settle in fine lines and accentuate the appearances of large pores. It does not have any smoothing effect on skin. The powder is completely matte and non-comedogenic.
Lakme Rose Powder has extremely light coverage; it’s better to describe as no coverage at all. It cannot control oil for more than 1 hour during extremely hot and humid weather. In AC indoor also I need to touch up 3 to 4 times if I don’t wear any oil controlling foundation or compact powder. The Rose powder instantly make the area of application matte and fresh. The powder cannot control sweat and comes off instantly if the face is blotted with tissue or hanky. The powder does not act as a great setting powder as it lacks any binding capability. But it can be used as a quick fix to set oily makeup in place.
The face powder comes in two shades: Warm pink and Soft pink which are for wheatish to dusky skin and fair skin respectively. Due to the sheer coverage it does not matter if someone with pale skin applies the warm pink. Ladies with warm undertone irrespective of the complexion should get the warm pink shade and beauties with cool or pink skin tone should get the soft pink shade.
