Hello friends, today I am reviewing the Lotus Herbals Papayablem Papaya-n-Saffron Anti-Blemish Cream. It claims to have the goodness of papaya, saffron, almond and apricot which clears blemishes, scars and spots from the face and also makes the complexion fair and imparts smooth and spotless glow. I have few acne spots from occasional breakouts on my cheeks. During summer I was using the Body Shop Drops Of Light Healthy Brightening Serum which helped me a lot to clear up the blemishes. But in the winter I need a heavy cream to fight the dehydration. I am always a fan of Lotus herbals product as they are not heavily loaded with chemicals and come with affordable price tag. The Lotus Herbals YouthRx Anti Ageing Nourishing Night Creme (reviewed here) and the Safe Sun 3-In-1 Matte Look Daily Sunblock (reviewed here) actually worked great on me so this time I thought to give the Papayablem Anti-Blemish Cream a try.
Price: Rs. 395/- for 50 gm (available on Amazon)
The full list of ingredients is missing on the packet or on the tub. It only mentioned to contain papaya extract (which have exfoliating properties that remove the appearance of dead skin), saffron (which is claimed to have lightening and toning effect on skin), lemon peel extract (which adds clarity, glow and softness of the skin and also may fight acne), almond oil (which contains monounsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E, potassium, proteins, zinc along with other minerals and vitamins which makes skin healthy and delay aging), apricot kernel oil (which contains antioxidants and has anti-aging and anti-bacterial properties) and clove oil (it eliminates acne, has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties and helps to fade blemishes). Although all these ingredients sound amazing but I would have liked the full ingredient lists as it would let me know the approximate quantity of the herbal ingredients and other chemical components. Lotus Herbals frequently uses paraben in their products which many people avoid now a days. There is no way to know from whether this face cream contains paraben or not.
Lotus Herbals Papayablem Anti-Blemish Cream comes in a heavy round glass tub. Although the tub is sturdy but the packaging is not travel friendly. It is also unhygienic as I need to deep my finger every time I go to use the cream. I feel a tube is more convenient packaging style for face cream like products.
The texture of Lotus Herbals Papayablem Cream is quite heavy and thick. The cream feels a little sticky while applying but blends easily without tugging the skin. It makes my skin little shiny and oily after 1-2 hours of application so it will not be a preferable choice of base cream while going out even in the winter. Ladies with very dry skin may use it conveniently as day cream but oily skinned beauties should use it during night time. It has a bright yellow color reminding ripe papaya. The cream has a very nice floral fragrance which stays on for quite some time.
I have been using the Papayablem Anti-Blemish Cream for 3 weeks now and can see that my skin feels soft, perfectly hydrated and looks fresh whole day. I wake up with a plump and supple skin every morning as I use this cream only before going to bed. It has not caused any breakout yet. Although Lotus herbals claims the cream will improve complexion but sadly I have not seen my complexion being any whiter in these three weeks. It neither erased the stubborn acne marks or dark pigmentation. It may work on the blemishes after prolonged use but it is definitely not a quick fix like the The Body Shop Drops Of Light Brightening Serum.
